Dongle Targets

Thales HASP HL Max Dongles are valid targets for license linking. These dongles are green.

Using a pre-linked dongle

If you purchased your Image-Pro license pre-linked to your Hasp HL Max dongle, you only need to plug the dongle into a computer to start working with Image-Pro on that computer. You can run Image-Pro on any computer, both online and offline, provided that the dongle is plugged in.

If you purchased unlinked licenses and a blank HASP HL Max dongle, or if you wish to add additional licenses to a pre-linked dongle, follow the instructions below to link your licenses to your dongle. You must use an internet connected computer to link licenses to a dongle. Once the licenses are linked, you can run Image-Pro on either an online or an offline computer provided that the dongle is connected to the computer.

Using a blank dongle

Linking

  1. Ensure that your dongle is connected your computer.

  2. Open the License Manager.

  3. Select the Sign-In link in the top right of the License Manager.

  4. In the dialog that opens, you can either:

    1. Sign into your myMediaCy account by entering your username and password.

    2. Enter an unlocking code (ULC). Unlocking codes are delivered by e-mail (in the case of e-delivery) or can be found inside your Image-Pro packaging (in the case of physical delivery). Only enter the ULC for your base product, ULCs for modules are not required. Click ‘Continue’.

  5. The Product registration page opens. Required fields are marked with an asterisk. Complete the page and click the Register Now button at the bottom of the page.

  6. The three tables of the license manager are shown and are populated.

This Computer (top): shows copies of Image-Pro installed on the computer that you are using.

My Unlinked Licenses (middle): shows license bundles that are available to be linked. This middle table is the relevant table for license linking.

My Linked Licenses (bottom): shows license bundles that are already linked and are available for unlinking.

You can inspect the contents of a bundle by clicking on the ‘turn-down’ control on the left of the bundle.

  1. Check the My Unlinked Licenses (middle) table and select the checkbox associated with the license bundle that you wish to link to your dongle and click the Link button.

  2. Select the USB Dongle option and click OK.

The License Manager will refresh (there may be a short delay while this happens) and your newly linked license bundle will be listed in the My Linked Licenses (bottom) table. The status of the newly linked license bundle will update to Linked and the dongle icon is shown as the target.

You can now run Image-Pro on any computer to which the dongle is connected.

Unlinking

  1. Open the License Manager on any internet connected computer.

  2. Select the Sign-In link in the top right of the License Manager.

  4. The three tables of the license manager are shown and are populated.
